Your Shape

Jeremiah 18: 1-4 ESV
The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: "Arise and go down to the potter's house, and there I will let you hear my words." So I went down to the potter's house, and there he was working on his wheel. And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter's hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good for the potter to do.
Almost everyone knows how pottery is made. First a wet clump of clay...then spun and formed by the hands of the potter. The potter can form the pottery into whatever he or she chooses. Even during the process the potter can change their mind on what the outcome will be. The raw clay once shaped goes into a kiln to be fired for many hours. Through this process many imperfections are burned away because of the heat....Like the potter.......God shapes and molds us. He molds our character. He molds our life. We go through the fire. The truth is we will all go through the fire in our lives with or without God. The potter, once finished can be pleased with the outcome.....because the clay allowed the potter to shape and mold it. For those of us in Christ, reflect in prayer if you are allowing God to mold and shape you. If you are not in Christ, ask Him into your life. Find a great bible believing church and get baptized. You can be all God created you to be, if you allow it. If you are not allowing God to shape you......Read His word....talk to God in prayer in the name of Jesus. Make quiet time, you may be amazed at what you hear. He has given you a choice!! Who or what is influencing the shape you are becoming?
In Christ,
Jeff
